Pebble Tec Finish Problems

We had Blue Lagoon Pebble Tec pool installed new construction June 2018. There has been a beige brown color covering a lot of areas in the pool, very patchy and looks awful. They explained that it will eventually go away and can take up to a year. We are not seeing much change, chemical balance is good and no problem with the water. We have read that an acid bath might work without draining the pool or draining and doing complete acid wash. Does this look normal, certainly a shock to us. The pool company is assuring us this is normal and guarantee it will be fine? Any suggestions are appreciated
I will attach pictures.

That looks like normal variations in a natural surface. They add character to the pool.

An acid wash will lighten up some of the darker surfaces at the expense of possibly a few years of plaster life as it removes a layer of plaster. It still is not going to be perfect. So why bother?

Wow I think you need to reach out to Pebble Tec directly about this one. If that's normal, then all the gorgeous photos on their website are misleading, at best. I wouldn't think Pebble Tec would be pleased to see this online as an example of their finishes. I know if mine had come out like that, it would not have been acceptable.

If that’s normal, taking Blue Lagon off my list.

Darker colors show more imperfections. Plastering pools is as much an art as a science. Lots of quality variations within the normal range. Some plaster crews are better then others and outcome varies day to day.

same finish, same issues... we didn't build the pool, it came with the house. the advice in the past was the same as noted above regarding acid washing. no thanks. honestly, being a newbie at this TFP thing, i was hoping that correcting / balancing my water may help long term - we'll see. we've always had gorgeous water, but thanks to this site and the addition of borates, it's only gotten more crystal clear - guess what you can see when the water is more than crystal clear... that's right, more imperfections in the surface...

never thought to check their website before, but good idea. my thinking is the $50mm mansions surrounding the pools may be a little distracting :) I thought I could see the variations in some of the pictures, but who knows - could've been shadows too i guess.

If that style of peb tec renders imperfections as the pic's enclosed, I would certainly scratch that color and anything like it off the radar...as noted, I would check your iron water levels and other mineral levels to determine if that's causing it. I too would have pebble tec come out and review the whole install - good luck and keep us posted
