Hello Everyone!

First, let me say thanks to the community, as I've educated myself quite a bit with regard to pool equipment, SWG, contracts, drains, chemicals, etc. We're building an in ground pool and extending our existing outdoor living area to add a kitchen, all here in Austin, TX. We've spoken to 7 PB's and 6 outdoor living companies over the last 3 months. I'm set on SWG, which quickly eliminated a handful of the Texas PB's as has been noted in the forum. We really like the design, responsiveness, and interaction of the current PB, and they have been open to making some modest modifications in the contract, based on feedback here.

I would love to get the input from the community on the layout and specs that we've landed on -- many of which are informed by discussions here!
Here goes, pics at the bottom.

Well well well...nice write up and looks like an awesome pool for your environment.

Have you left room for an outdoor cooking setup? You mention SWG but it is not listed in the equipment? Not so sure about the SAVI mini lights as they don't seem to have the best reviews. Has your PB installed them before? Can PB provide references?

Your off to a great start...congrats!

Thanks! The salt cell is buried in the automation equipment: Pentair 520545 Easytouch 8SC-IC40: Pool/Spa (includes SCG integration & IC40 cell, 2 actuators)
My PB specifically recommended the SAVI mini lights -- my research on TFP shows that there were some issues with the earlier models cracking and leaking, but the newer models (v2 and v3) seem to work well. They supposedly work with the EasyTouch Automation as well from what the PB told me and what I've researched.

Regarding outdoor cooking space -- we're extending the existing outdoor living area, here is the rendering from the outdoor living company -- it's a bit crammed but we got everything in there we wanted (2x frig, egg, ice bin, grill) while still staying behind the building setback lines.

I'd lose that cleaner line and booster pump. You can put a handmade fountain on any return line (pressure side) the main pump feeds. Saves money, noise of a second pump and robots clean far, far better.

3.5' is *very* low. I'd go 4' for the shallowest depth.

Ask how much upcharge it would be for an IC 60 cell? It might be minimal and would surely allow you to run your SWG at low range and extend its lifespan. As well as assure yourself of *plenty* of FC.

Just my two cents!

Yup they gave you great advice................welcome to TFP you found the place to be you will love it here and your pool too ! Salt is the way to go love it , I love Austin have lots of family there looking forward to pics and progress too, Any concrete questions please ask i have been in the concrete business for ever and have a cousin that pours a million yards a year in austin. Good luck!

Spoke with PB today -- pulled out the pressure-side cleaner+booster from quote, and am pretty sure I can buy a robotic cleaner for not much more -- will call Marina tomorrow to get pricing. Wow, lots of robots out there to choose from :/
Also quoted and will be paying for the upgrade to IC60, and plan to sign the contract tomorrow.

Thanks for the input, wish me luck!

Extra electrical GFCI plugs will come in handy. I have them on my BBQ island and the perimeter of the pool as well. One of the absolute best things I did...
