foam insulation and skimmer port -- light water seepage

Folks,

Last year when I installed the pool, I glued on a 1/8" foam insulation around the inside of the wall. But where the skimmer and return jet is, the foam is cut just like the liner. What I've noticed is some water seepage around the skimmer and the return jet. I'm wondering if its the foam insulation that is affecting the seal.

Was I supposed to cut the foam insulation back a little bit (like an inch or so around the circumference of the jet & skimmer) so that it did not interfere with the return jet and skimmer seal?

Thanks,

Thanks. I did do that...and its mostly sealed, just a very, very slow weeping of water. Unfortunately, there was nothing in the instructions for the foam that said I had to do that. It just seems logical that I may need to remove the foam from the gasket area to get a better seal. I was hoping someone on TFP had experience working with foam and liners. Once I cut the foam back, I'm committed :)

You would have to do that to get get a better deal. Drain the pool to just below the return and peal back the liner to do so. Reinstall parts and fill.
