A bunch of shovel work in the hole. Then I'll set up a pair of screed rails in the hole with the laser transit to get the 9.25 degree floor angle I need.

What does this "a pair of screed rails" mean? I know what the laser transit is and does.

it was -6c today. No idea what that is in your language but no cooling off needed. lol

Will have to post pics of screed rails. No way I can articulate it.

I did a google search and found some info. Now lets see if I can articulate it:

-screed means to make leave-could be concrete or dirt/gravel. The rail is to help you control the board by giving the board something to "ride" on.

Did I understand it correct?

hahahaha. Kinda. 2 parallel rails, spaced apart. I'm my case, one on each side of the hole. We set the elevation of one end to the deep end depth and the other end to the shallow end depth. This is the exact height needed for the pool to sit level. Then a 3rd rail or board is spanned across the 2 screed rails to accurately level the gravel fill.

How many truck loads do you anticipate will be needed to move that mountain?

We are still in the planning and decision making stage but we are leaning towards a fiberglass DIY as well so just wanted to say your progress looks great and thanks for all the great info!! Definitely inspires me to start my own build thread.

3 tri axle loads. But it's a really small pool.

Not much happening here. Been working everyday 4am to noon doing snow. Pool will be at the dealers in a week. Mother nature needs to cooperate.

oh. I'm sure. The reason I am doing this in March is that I'm with a new company, have no holidays and once the nice weather comes we do 65 hour weeks until Christmas.

So it's gotta get done now and on time. I'm hiring out the concrete but everything else I'm doing myself.

You *need* a swimming pool for sure...to relax in on those few off hours you're not working.
