SWG Run Time Calculator

I like your calculator. How accurate do you find it, as temperature and pH have a significant effect on swg output?

It makes me glad that I oversized my swg when I replaced it recently. I can generate 21.6 FC over 24 hours, which would probably be enough to keep the chlorine at SLAM levels.

I need to figure out what is going on because my generator should be able to keep up with the chlorine loss at 75% for only 4.5hrs but I have been running it at 8hrs on low and it is not holding it. Is this assuming pump running on high or does that not matter?

I see you have a new pool, new SWG and many different threads with lots of different questions. Did you ever get the CYA test finalized? If so, what are those results?

How much FC are you loosing a day? Your SWG is sized right, so it might be a matter of adjusting your CYA, run time and %.

Normally, SWG work just as good when the pump is on low. Have you checked the SWG lights when you are running the pump on low?

Just a thought, but sometimes the SWG will not generate chlorine if the flow is not high enough. Not sure if this would be the problem in your case though.

Re: Formula for SWG / Pump Runtime?

Is there a working link to this tool?

Great, thanks.

Here is the latest. Anything that I am missing? Obviously, the most difficult part is the PPM loss. I would think this could be measured over several days or a week and average it out. This would have to be done without the SWG running. Even that might not be right since there are alot of factors but it should be a decent starting point. Otherwise, maybe start with a value on the high side such as 3 or 4 and then back down from there.
