I LOVE the step and bench markers! Just think of what they will look like with the plaster around them and the sun shining on them!!!!!:sun:

Wow, TM! Everything is looking great!
...
And the weather???? Yesterday afternoon, the 6 day forecast said beautiful week next week. Then last night it changed!!!! And we had flood type downpours yesterday late afternoon with our power going out for 2 hours. The lightning was so bad I jumped and screamed a couple of times which I don't usually do. Our street flooded for the 3rd or 4th time this year (usually only happens once every 2 or 3 years!) and my pool filled up to the coping. OMG!!!! This is crazy weather. Radar showed most of Houston was sunny while I could hardly see out my windows. There was one little storm cell sitting right over my part of Cypress (just so special for old Suz), and it sat there for 2 hours. And guess what????? Yep, it's pouring again right now!!! So who knows what next week will bring!
What?! We're not THAT far apart in Cypress. We got a little rain when we were eating a late lunch at The Shack but the sun stayed out and then it was done. It's been bright and sunny today. I had the kids outside painting on canvas and stepping stones. We're in the car and I'd say the weather is beautiful but... When I look your way, I do see some gray clouds in the distance. Sorry Suz!. Do you mind holding onto it over there for us though so we can get some work done this coming week? [emoji23]

I THINK photo bucket can/will do video. I SO want to help but my brain is not finding the answer with what it is seeing
Do the best you can. What I am looking for is seeing the size and shape we have to work with. Take pic from the covered patio looking towards the back fence, making sure to have the pool and side fence in the pic and the play area. LOL
GOOD LUCK!

Well, that's Houston for ya'!!! I've seen it (maybe 4-5 times in my 40 years of living here) rain across the street and not on my yard or vice versa. If I remember right, you're near the new Parkway and 290 while I'm down near 249 and Louetta (halfway between Willowbrook and Spring Cypress). Plenty of space for showers to jump around. Out of towners are always surprised how large of an area Cypress covers - the school district alone services 186 square miles - I think the district is up to 12 high schools - pretty big.
When I typed the post earlier today, it was about 11am and the downpour didn't last long. Thank goodness. The rest of the day has been partly cloudy/sunny but no more rain here until some heavy sprinkles now.
You got it!!! I'll keep the rain here to hopefully give you a break! I know what it means while a pool is being built...... All these rains are giving me good practice at managing the pool water and the best way to clean up after the rains leave. (but it doesn't take long to learn that! Haha!!!)

Looks good, maybe you can even plant a new citrus tree towards the street end in the mostly wasted space (assuming north is towards the left) that would give it a good wind break from the N / NW winter wind. If you do just select a variety that will actually grow in NW Houston like we talked about earlier in this thread (if I could pick only one for your situation it would by Owari Satsuma on Flying Dragon root stock ) Flying Dragon is a dwarfing root stock, so better for small yards, even on dwarfing roof stock an Owari Satsuma can get to be 10-12 ft tall and maybe 15 ft wide after 15-20 years, if not pruned, so don't plant too close to a fence. Unless you plan to have more kids it is probably safe to plant it closer to the swing set than the street fence as they are somewhat slow to grow and the boys will have grown out of the swing set by the time the tree is big enough to get in the way. (say 7-8 ft wide at 5 years after planting). Best time to plant is in the spring after the last frost, second best time is late summer after the peak of the heat, provided you water it once per week if we have a dry summer.

No artist but here is the best I could do with my limited abilities. (Even the kids laugh at my drawings LOL)
This maxes out the play area and gives you seating around all sides of the fire pit and gives you the planters still.
TM do NOT feel as if you need to be nice or have to use my ideas. If you don't like my idea that is fine.

How set on having a built in fire pit are you? I am thinking you might want to skip it OR just know there will only be seating on the sides. IF you put it close enough to the pool/spa you could use the spa wall as seating.
If you get one of the fire pits from Lowes or such you could move it as wanted or needed or as you find you use it.
