    Aquabug wheel axles

I'm a clutz and dropped my Aquabug next to the pool. The leading wheel broke off. The axle broke off but the wheel is fine. Anyone have a replacement source for the little white axle thingie other than the super expensive wheel replacement kits? I have wheels that work fine just broke one of...

Hayward Bug...what part is at fault?

Thank you for the video - with this one and a few others I was able to determine my issue. Missing the two screws that hold the bottom section tight and enabling better suction When I had taken the bug fully apart I obviously missed those two and thankfully I have a donor bug who provided...

Hayward Bug...what part is at fault?

Hi experts......I have a multi year old Hayward Bug who has happily vacuumed my above ground pool. This year bug's age is showing. The part where the hose attaches should move easier than it is. Mine doesn't move freely and takes some force to move it. I've taken it all apart and didn't find...

Intex Side Skimmer Low Water Suction

We also have an Intex Skimmer. In order to get it really work we installed a valve and shut off one of the inlet's so we are down to one (like when I vacuum). The skimmer now works wonderfully.

Dimension of Intex Ultra Frame 24x12

Bless all of you! Now to pray for nice weather but no too hot this weekend so we can get the leveling completed. I am grateful that the whole site is level - just have to move some blocks.

Dimension of Intex Ultra Frame 24x12

We had to replace our old Intex pool and decided to downsize so the blocks we used under our former pool legs will not be in the proper location. We are going to install the intex ultra frame that is 24x12. Question....when putting our blocks under the legs so that they remain level and don't...

I hate pool stores. Need help with test kit

I too recommend the kits mentioned above. My first purchase was the FT-100 and I've never regretted it and neither would you. The accuracy and peace of mind is the best.

Ready to jump in! literally and figuratively

After we dump in our salt I let the kids play with it in the water until it is dissolved. Since your water is snow melt cold and not many would volunteer to jump in you could just use a broom to push it around ...as my husband says "stir the tea" until the salt is dissolved. We use the...

truly at my wits end with this cover!

We use rope to keep our pool located in a VERY windy spot covered. Without the ropes the "jiffy-pop popcorn" effect will rip the cover off in no time. This years modification was the addition of the duct tape where the rope and cover connect - we re-applied the tape twice this winter so not bad...

Does anyone here have the rectangle shaped Intex pool?

THe original one we lost due to the wind in the first year we owned the pool. Since then we buy a very large tarp from Harbor Freight (new one every year). We have screwed eye hooks around the pool into the rail road ties that surround the pool. We wrap the pool like a present as it is in a...

    Question for next spring

You might look at using a leaf net. It isn't solid but is instead a mesh thus the rain passes through yet the leaves for the most part stay on the net. As far as ease of removal. Well to remove took two people as our pool is a rectangle and it was just easier for the two of us to grab one end...

    Winter cover issue

We too have the "jiffy pop popcorn" cover. Fortunately our pool is surrounded by rail road ties. So we screwed some heavy duty eye hooks into the ties and then looped rope through it making a grid and pulled it pretty tight. It's windy in Kansas and our pool is fully exposed. The grid helped...

    AGP Equpiment Suggestions

We have a salt pool and the ease of maintenance sold us. Remember when you start up use bleach to get you to the level of chlorine. Add your stabilizer to get your CYA to the right level. Add salt and turn on your generator. This past season we had zero issues - pool was balanced - water had...

Air Pillow for above ground pool closing?

We used a huge truck tire and two "River Rat" tubes - tied all of them together then tied them to the sides of the pool to keep them relatively centered. We lower the water and use a giant tarp to cover that we then tie down to eyes we have screwed into boards that are along the sides of our...

    Intex SWG high salt error

Remember - the intex SWG is great for keeping FC stable. B U T....to get your FC to the proper level skip the boost thing and add bleach. Once you feel you are testing the salt correctly and given that your SWG is brand new I would lean towards a faulty unit. I had issues with my first SWG -...

    Intex SWG Low Salt 91

My Intex SWG likes about 3200. I use the Aquacheck salt test strips and I'm in the low 6's and my generator has been humming along all summer keeping my pool nice and sparklely

Intex 1600 GPH Sand Filter & Saltwater System- Winter storage, Mold, Sand, Bad Smell?

Re: Intex 1600 GPH Sand Filter & Saltwater System- Winter storage, Mold, Sand, Bad Sm Though I'm not in New England our weather does get very cold we just don't get the snow here. The pump and SWG head to shed. I don't move the filter. I usually drain the filter and leave the valves off...

    Adding salt

Salt is salt....I've found that the only difference in the pool salt vs. the softener salt is the size and PRICE. Since in the end it doesn't matter I just use the softener salt. It just takes a bit longer to dissolve. Use a broom to stir your pool if you are concerned about it sitting on the...

    Automatic cleaner

I have the aqua bug and like her fine. I did purchase a leaf catcher which helps as we have a few trees that like to donate to the pool. It is a must to have a good filter and be sure that as you see your bug slow down that might be an indicator of either a air leak (you didn't get the hose...

Proper Hose for Backwashing an Intex?

I had one of those intex reducer pieces that can screw on to the backwash port. I used a hose clamp to attach one of those long blue back wash hoses to the reducer and water the surrounding trees.

DuraCube Pros pick salt, can I use this in my pool?

Keep in mind salt is salt. As long as there aren't any additives go for the cheapest. Chunks or flakes will all dissolve in your pool one just takes a bit longer than the other. FYI - when I added my salt I used my children to help dissolve it. They loved playing with it and were somewhat...

    First above ground pool. Pointers?

Order your test kit today. I swear by the TF-100 and the Aqua Check (salt) test strips - it is worth EVERY PENNY. I have a SWG and for our lifestyle (work, ball games 2-3 nights a week, etc) it is the only way to go as I don't have the time to test and add bleach every night. We start the...

    Automatic vacuum

I have the Aqua Bug. Would I buy him again....maybe not I'd have to talk to owners of other above ground auto vacuums. I tend to have problems with air leaking into the hose as getting the hose sections to be 100% together is a challenge - during pool start up when I want daily vacuuming I have...

    Leaf Net True size

We have an above ground pool that is 16x32 (Intex rectangle). I was looking for a leaf net to help keep the cover a bit cleaner. Since they don't sell rectangle above ground nets I was looking at the in ground. Since I need some overlap to go down the sides of the pool to help keep it anchored...

    wind control

We too are in a high wind area. This year we are going to try lacing a rope across the top of the pool going back and forth in a grid fashion hoping that will help remove the jiffy popcorn top.

Thoughts on this setup for winter cover....

We plan on also zig-zagging rope across the top of our pool in order to help hold the cover down when the "winds come sweeping down the plains". Our thought is that it would decrease the size of the balloon.
