    Pool too hot

Solar is definitely off and has been for a few weeks. Our pool is pretty small and only 5’ deep. I think no screen and full sun all day are big contributors. The lack of rain isn’t helping either. 🥵

    Pool too hot

Thanks. Looks like I'll just have to do a rain dance at this point.

    Pool too hot

Here in sunny, hot and humid Florida my pool temp was 94 degrees yesterday. I like a warm pool but not that warm. Not sure if there's anything I can do to lower the temp before we have guests next weekend who really want to swim. I do have solar but the display on my Pentair Solar Touch is wonky...

Does calcium chloride raise salt levels?

That makes sense. I do usually let my pH run a bit higher.

Does calcium chloride raise salt levels?

FC 6.5 CC 0 pH 7.4 TA 90 CH 240 CYA 70 Salt 3800 Water temp 92 CSI -0.31 I didn’t take a full set of tests today so some calculations may be off.

Does calcium chloride raise salt levels?

Don’t know on the fill water. I can test it tomorrow. CSI is -0.31.

Does calcium chloride raise salt levels?

I’m going by the ideal level in Pool Math of 350-550. And my CSI is -0.31.

Does calcium chloride raise salt levels?

I’ve been draining and refilling my pool for several days due to a mistake in adding too much salt. My CH is reading at 240. If I raise the level to 350 will this also raise my salt level as I’m assuming chloride = salt? The salt level is still reading at 3800.

Salt still high. When to replace salt cell.

No high salt light but the amps are at 7.35. Would my high water temperature have any affect? It’s so hot here and my pool is 92 degrees. What is the danger of running it once the amps drop below 7 even if my salt level is in the high 3000’s?

Salt still high. When to replace salt cell.

And of course the new cell is leaking. Finally got it with some lube.

Salt still high. When to replace salt cell.

Too follow up on my post from Friday where I mistakenly added salt before realizing that I was getting an erroneous reading from my AquaRite due to cell failure. We have been draining and refilling the pool since Friday. Getting the water down to the tile line, refilling and then doing it again...

    Too much salt

We have a fence but no pool cage. I’ve seen videos of gators climbing right over fences. That incident at Disney was so sad. I’ve seen a few gators in ponds in the neighborhood in person.

    Too much salt

No sharks and we’ve yet to see a gator in our pond but the next street over had one. 🐊😂

    Too much salt

I’m draining into an already brackish pond behind our house.

    Too much salt

Our water table is very shallow. Just a few feet. Hoping for lots of rain and I’ll just keep draining with the hose and refilling. Husband does not want to get a submersible pump.

    Too much salt

Thanks for all the help. I think I'll just leave work early and go home and work on it. Apparently the whole thing is too much for my husband to comprehend lol.

    Too much salt

No I get it but the submersible isn't an option due to my husband's attitude. We have sunk so much money into the pool in the last 3 months with replacing the pool pump and having to replace the actuator on our solar pool heater and now $600 for a new salt cell. I can turn off the skimmers while...

    Too much salt

The submersible pump isn't an option. As mentioned, my husband is already incredibly mad at me right now for my screw up and won't help with fixing it. I guess I'll just keep draining a little at a time. That's all I can do on my own. I've turned the AquaRite off and won't install the new cell...

    Too much salt

I did use pool math and saw that. No idea how I can lower it that much at this point.

    Too much salt

No. We've never had to drain much water so just use a hose hooked up to the bottom of the cartridge filter housing. I'm trying to make this as easy as possible as my husband is furious with me so I need to be the one to fix it and am less than handy.

    Too much salt

So lots of draining and refilling? I think I can only drain with the pump running? I know not to get the water level below the skimmer, right?
  22. Flbeachluvr

    Too much salt

I do and that was my mistake not using it and just going by what the AquaRite was reading. My test kit is reading about 5600.

    Too much salt

I screwed up and added too much salt to my pool. Got some algae in the pool and tested the chlorine level and it was at 4. My AquaRite said my salt level was at 1900 so I added a bag of salt. My bad for not using my salt test kit to confirm the level but I was tired and getting ready for bed...

Which Plano tackle box have you found that works?

Refill kit doesn't fit Taylor K-2006 case

I'll check that out. I did see it on the TF Test Kits website but wasn't sure it would fit my refills. Thanks.

Refill kit doesn't fit Taylor K-2006 case

I have the Taylor K-2006 case. I purchased the refill kit from TF Test Kits a few years ago and the refills fit in the case. Just reordered and made sure I bought the refills specifically for the Taylor kit but the bottles don't fit. Going back and double-checking my order I saw that it says...

    Timer model

I’m not handy and don’t want to start messing with things. My husband is less handy than I am. I’ll see if maybe I can get a friend to look at it. Thanks though for trying to help.
