Youtube pool guys and bad information

being bored I have bee watching a lot of good and strange video's on youtube..The google advertising machine started sending me pool related stuff..
There are some strange pool guys out there giving bad information.
One guy was talking about PH and TA and seem to know his stuff but lost me when he said your TA should be 150 to 180.Plus he liked to throw in Cuss words and bleep himself out??? Strange
The next pool guy was talking the same subject and said to raise TA buy TA increase or bicarbonate of soda. Being in IT and not Chemistry I thought what is that..Baking soda! I bet he isn't selling his clients Baking soda for $8 but the TA up for $35

Lots of scam artists out there and people who claim to know it all but are really not informed.

Anyone can upload anything to You Tube in minutes, it is a very dangerous place to look for an answer IF you know nothing about about what you are looking at so you can skip the idiots.

My peeve with some of these how-tos is that a guy will take twelve minutes to demonstrate what should take twenty seconds. Someone told me it's because they are monetized; the longer you watch the more they make. I've learned to check the comments. Sometimes someone will post something like "Skip to 9:57" or they'll write a bunch of stuff taking the poster apart. It saves me the time of watching it.

Yea, I actually looked into starting one and you get more money if it's over 10 minutes. But I have no idea what to post besides my dog barking at my robot for 20 seconds

ha ha, you have to first talk about your dog for 10 minutes, then the robot for another 10 and then flash a quick look at the dog barking at the robot. Don't forget to stand on one foot and shale and wobble side to side and up and down while the cam is running. Another tip, play loud music that is at the same volume as your voice. By now you guys know i do go there right, yes i do, after i watched my paint dry and grass grow i get bored and need a good laugh, that when i pick a topic i know something about and go watch what the idiots have to say about it. Funny and scary to the point of shameful.

One trick I like, when watching actual informative videos, is to watch at 1.5X speed. It barely changes the audio and you save a lot of time. Once in a while I encounter a video that's not watchable at that speed, but usually I can't even tell.

It's the same reason when you look up recipes on line and they want to tell you a long story about mowing a field or something just as pointless before you get to the actual recipe. The longer you are on the page, the more advert money they get.

Adding fluff is easy. Being concise is hard.

The easy papers in college were always "write at least x pages on y." The hard papers were "cover topic y in 1 page or less."

It's refreshing to see the short run times of the TFP videos on youtube. It's become pretty rare to find videos less than 10 minutes.
