I was lucky enough to find TFP before I set my pool up. We had decided to test run an AGP to see how the maintenance etc of it was in real life before we put in an IGP (after my monster TRX paid off lol). So far so good! Because in my overly researching ways I found you guys!
It has been just over a month since we filled it and I have been able to maintain it (so far) without any issues. The only thing I have run into so far that required a bit more was when my SWG was not able to maintain my FC lvls.
I thought it was due to the extreme amount of heat & sun we have been having so did not stress about it…until I saw white build-up on my SWG cell. My TA is high so had been waiting for pH to hit 8.0 then adding muriatic acid to bring pH & TA down…not sweating the TA too much, just reducing it as I reduced the pH. I also did not sweat my FC hitting 3.5 because I would use bleach to raise it & help SWG to bring it back up to the pool math ideal of 6ppm for FC.
After the calcium buildup I researched more & realized that the lower FC combined with me waiting on the higher pH created over .3 CSI only took a couple days for the calcium buildup to slow down my chlorine production on my SWG. I have since then cleaned my SWG and it is producing FC like a champ lol. I also do not let my pH go over 7.8 any longer & totally pay attention to the CSI even though it is in within the -.7 & +.7 (now I keep it in the -.3 - +.3 range) and keep my FC at 10% of my my CYA instead of being cool with it at min or at ideal when testing.
All this to say all your help & all your info makes me a better pool owner even when something new comes up. The biggest gift to me, is to be able to pass it on…to be able to help someone else like I have been helped. Thank you!
I shop on Amazon all the time & have never posted anything. Today I ran across a question & for the first time felt compelled to answer because I could help.
Thank you for the help. Thank you for no algae yet. Thank you for help with more in depth info. And thank you for teaching me enough to help others!
