CYA:between 40-50
lowered PH to 7.2 so I can start slamming soon.
I put chlorinator on zero opening now to not add CYA till after slam with my trichlor-pucks.
Bought liquid chlorinate (12x 1gal at 10%)
I see slamming yellow algae I must get FC up to 29????
I brushed pool 2 days ago and start seeing yellow mustard came back, so I guess I have to slam??
Been reading how to slam but need a few questions answered please.

Assume I have to slam.
Looks like for my CYA of 50 and 30,000 gal, I will need about 7.5 gal liquid chlorinate to start to get to 29 (pool math)
Please confirm if i worked this out correct, because there is normal slam for 20 and yellow mustard slam for 29????
What do I do with DE filter, before and during and after....When to clean grits, before or after.
Brush twice a day. Do I leave all brushes inside pool to also get sterilized??
Weather is going to be between 95 and 100 in Texas.
Hope someone can guide me in mapping out what my next 7 to 10 days will look.
Appreciate anyone finding the time to help here.

PS: was my fault as I drained my pool about 4 months ago and FC was kept around 3 and somedays went to low...
In Texas heat in summer will you keep FC around 7???
Also CYA at around 30 to 50 makes it very hard to control the numbers....Fluctuate so much with FC and PH.
Someone mentioned that in Texas it might be better to have CYA higher than 50 in summer, maybe around 60-70???

Been reading up more...Reference to my first post above...Will I have to do the regular slam first until OCLT...That will mean only get FC up first to about 18 for a 45 CYA.....it is for yellow mustard algae....and those numbers for FC is higher.

We round up CYA to the next highest number when it's between numbers, so your CYA is 50 for our purposes. You'll need 20 FC for a SLAM. Do a normal SLAM until you pass OCLT, then raise FC to 29.4 and keep it there for 24 hours.

And don't forget to brush, brush, brush. Run your pump 24/7. And vacuum the dead algae every day.
