I'm going to be closing my pool in the next week or so. I'm in Southern Ontario and thinking of converting to a SWG. It seems from the threads I've read that it becomes more cost effective over time. I do have a couple of questions though:
1. I like to keep my pool between 88 and 92 degrees. This tends to be a higher maintenance zone with regards to chlorine to make sure that algae doesn't start. I find that I need to add 2L of liquid (12%) chlorine to my pool daily to ensure good chlorine levels. Will the temperature that I maintain cause any issues with water quality if I switch to a SWG?
2. I have a RayPak Pool heater and a Hayward Filter with a 1hp constant Hayward pump. I run the pump 24/7. I can't go less than that because my pool is old and was installed by a previous owner. It was poorly installed and the return jets are not positioned well to circulate the water. Keeping it on 24/7 circulates well, but if I reduce it I think I'm going to have massive algae issues (or other water quality issues).
Could anyone advise if anything here will be an issue?
NOTE: My pool is 14x28 Grecian (about 12,000 gallons).
