I hope to find some clarity on this issue and hope this is right place to post. The outdoor swimming pool at my condo building in Chicago started to show some yellow-green discoloration on and around the walls in the pool. Building management claims it's fading from the sun over the years. I swim laps daily and I am confident it was not present when the pool opened for the season during Memorial Day weekend. About a week ago a strong storm poured a lot of rain and debris into the pool and shortly thereafter this started to form. Their reasoning is since the patched areas of the liner show a difference in color it must be just discoloration. I assume the newer patches in the corner have some sort of coating to prevent growth. ls this yellow algae or something else? It is frustrating to not get any concrete answers from the management. I understand a precise conclusion might not come without an analysis of water but I want to at least know which direction to push them in. Thanks a lot for any insight!
