Wiring SWCG and heater with a VS pump control board

I currently have a mechanical timer powering pump, SWCG and heater so they're all powered at the same time.
Thinking about a new VS pump.
Seems some pump control boards have switched output and some don't for accomplishing the same thing as my timer.
If I get a VS that doesn't have switched outputs, what's the proper way of wiring the generator and heater so they are only powered when the pump is running?

I'm going to guess using the timer would work, just keep the pump hot at all times bypassing the timer but leave the others on the timer.
That could potentially allow the SWG and heater to be on with no flow if the run times were out of sync. I know they have built in flow sensors.
Also, to bypass the timer for pump power is it OK to use wire nuts in the enclosure, or is there a better way?

Wire the pump with continuous power so its internal timer has control. Sync the other items to be on during the run time set in the pump. I've been doing that for years, over a decade, with no issues. Is there a possibility of them getting out of sync? Yes, a power outage will do that if you have a mechanical time clock. I use an electronic time clock (P1353ME) for the other items I power on. They are usually able to maintain settings for at least 8 hours if the power goes out.
