wiring stenner pump / outlet.. no more breaker space - can it be chained to other relay?

Hello all,

I have all my breakers used - 2 x pumps, GFCI for lights , one breaker for the Jandy panel itself. I believe the last 240 breaker is the blower.

I want hardwire a stenner pump, and I have a spare relay.

  • Can I chain to one of the 240V relays (such as the pump?)
  • Can I take from only one side of the 240 relays, and chain that to the spare relay essentially making a 120V line?
  • I have read previously that splitting the 240 to 120 and wiring the neutral bar can cause the breaker to trip (is this GFCI breakers only? I do not have a neutral slot on my breakers)

appreciate any input.

S,

I would just jumper from the line side of your pool light relay over to the line side of your spare relay.. That will give you 120 volts for the Stenner

I would not try to split a 240 volt line....

Thanks,

Jim R.
