Wiring 12V pool lights to Omni system

I just had my pool installed. Electrician wired up my low voltages transformer for my 3 Hayward color logic lights. I’m trying to finish everything else.

My question is - am I only dealing with 12V low voltages to finish this install? Can I run a 12V wires to a high voltage relay on my Omni board? I assume it goes:

Transformer low voltage side > HVR on Omni > junction box where all pool lights are ran. Then I just assign the HVR to my light via Omni setup.

Is this right? Or does 120V need to be ran to the HVR to turn lights on and off? If that’s the case I will call electrician back out and pay as I don’t want to be zapped dead.

NEC does not approve of mixing high voltage and low voltage in the same cabinet area.

While what you describe will work it creates safety issues and should not be done.

Switch the high voltage side of the transformer. If you want individual control of lights then use multiple transformers.

They are seperate sections with a divider between them.

Man don’t get me lying. I can’t find videos of it anywhere. I got it directly from Hayward and it came with my salt cell

Yes, you would not be following the installation instructions to maintain separation of high and low voltage wiring.

Run the lights to the xformer. Run the load to the 2nd contact of the hvr. Run the line from your breaker to the 1st contact of the same hvr.

If you want to individually control each light you need the smart xformer or 3 separate xformers

No wires from the lights even go into the S3 Omni Aquarite.

Sorry for all the separate replies. You need to do another knockout in your Aquarite from the breaker to your xformer. Run the line from that to the hvr. Hvr contacts are #1 line #2 load for 120v.

Thank you for the info. I’m going to have my electrician run the 120V to the HVR. I can handle everything else going to lights that’s low voltage.
