What do people typically do for pool maintenance during the Winter in warmer climates? This was our first Winter with an IG pool, and we maintained it the same as we did during the Summer, on the advice of one of our contractors who said there is no reason to close a pool in Texas. It seemed like the effort and expense of chemicals to maintain for months without use was extra work and expense with no enjoyment of the pool. We're now getting back to using the pool, but I'm curious for next Winter if we were given bad information, or if there's an lower-maintenance way to get through the Winter months. Thank you!

You leave the pool open and maintain it over the winter. It should be very minimal. A little chlorine once or twice a week. Run the pump a few hours a day at most. Clean out the pool of debris when you wish. Every thing slows down.

Biggest hassle for you all is when you get those cold snaps. Managing your freeze protection.
