Will a plaster patchwork/ repair ever blend in??

Hello! Our pool has just been finishing and we noticed the bubbler on our sun ledge is not centered and they did not install the 1.5" cap they just ran and cut a 3/4" PVC pipe. The contractor came out today and said he would fix it, but demo would be in a large square shape area and plaster repair will be noticeable. I wanted to know if the plaster repair will blend in at some point or will it always remain a dark or lighter color forever being noticeable? Or another option just leave it alone and deal with it?? Please share your pictures of your plaster patchwork or repairs and what your experience was. Our plaster is Diamond Brite Cool Blue! Thank you!!

It doesn't look like a deal breaker to me. It depends on what you will use the shelf for and if it will fit around it.

So you're saying just leave it alone? It's off by 8.5" from center. I'm planning on putting two chairs on either side of the bubbler. Hoping it looks balanced. They come in Saturday. My other concern was if it does have a cap would my kid stick things in it when it's not ...like their fingers and get them stuck!!

So you're saying let it stay where it is and do not move it over, but put the 1.5" cap on it for safety? It is off center by 8.5"

If the pipe is to be centered and have the cap installed then yes the plaster will have to be removed along with the Shotcrete and rebar cage (typically plumbing is run underneath the rebar) in order for the new location to be established.
The new plaster will most likely not match to the point of you not noticing but any one else most likely will not.
My previous suggestion was only to have an insert placed inside the pipe so it would function properly.

I would not do that level of invasive surgery on a new pool to move a bubbler.

Figure out how to live with what you have.

Kids fingers are unlikely to get stuck in it but a plastic easter egg might, Hmm, how do I know that? My 2 year old granddaughter still looks down the hole for her easter egg.

Not sure what you mean I'm sorry? What's next to your bubbler hole in that bottom picture?

If you do it, you have to hope for the best but be ready to accept it if the color is pretty far off.

Most people won't really care, but only you can decide if you prefer to have a centered line with discoloring or an off-center line with no discoloration.

The hole on the right of the two is an adjustable jet on a 3/4” pvc pipe (previous picture provided).
The hole on the left is an umbrella sleeve with the cover installed.
