I’ve read that alkalinity and pH should not change that much and only need to be tested weekly. That’s not true of mine -it can be fine & I can go in alone for a half an hour and the next morning when I test, it’s WAY low. I use a drop test kit. Is there something wrong this indicates? Can this be a sign it needs a change of water? It’s been 2 months.

TA 20, pH I am not sure of the number but the test sample was yellow.
Because of that very acidic water, I would go ahead and do a water exchange. Just easier that way. You should also consider doing a system purge with Ahh-Some while you're at it. Let the Ahh-Some do its thing then change the water. The pH and TA should never be that low as it really cause some damage, so just be careful about the acid dosage amounts.

Not chlorine. The trichlor. And it just dissolves. The system has no idea what is ‘needed’.

Non chlorine shock is monopersulfate.

If it is a solid with chlorine, it has either cyanuric acid or calcium. And I do not think it is calcium.

I believe it is the same stuff they use for toilet bowl cleaning pucks.

No idea on the MPS. Likely acidic.

It is dichlor
A stabilized, granular, fast-dissolving form of chlorine. Because it dissolves so easily, it is often sold as “shock”. Like trichlor, dichlor adds chlorine and CYA to your water and lowers the pH. Use of dichlor can raise your CYA level very quickly.

The frog system causes a myriad of effects that are hard to anticipate & account for. The same goes for mps.
It is not uncommon for ph to rise frequently in a spa due to the aeration.
It should be tested daily along with fc
FC/CYA Levels
The mps & frog are acidic so your ph rises with the aeration & they bring both ph & ta down.
I suggest you ditch the frog& mps & follow this guide upon refill after an Ahhsome purge 👇
