On here, TA is being recommended a max of 80. Everywhere else (sites, pool vendors, etc), thats the min. Whats the logic here?

The standard TA range indicated by Pool Stores, etc assumes you use Trichlor for your chlorination needs. That product is very acidic and a higher TA is needed to keep from crashing your pH.
