So - got a great deal from Margaret on a Dolphin Explorer E30 - took it out of the box and dropped it in the pool today.

Just moves the leaves around - they go in the bottom - and come right out the top. It either sucks, or I am doing something wrong. The filter basket with the 4 filter panels is in the machine, that black "sock" is in place on the bottom of the basket.

Ran it twice - it definitely scrubs the bottom and sides of the pool (it is a hoot to watch it scrub the water line...) but doesn't leave the water any cleaner. What am I doing wrong?

You have the top of the robot latched shut, right? There is no way leaves can come out the top ----

L,

Obviously, the leaves come in the bottom through the black sock and then they should be captured by the filter basket.. If the basket gets full, a few leaves can get sucked into the suction impeller..

Are you trying to vacuum up a forest of leaves?

Are you using the corrugated style filters?

Something is wrong, but I can't picture what would cause the leaves to not be captured by the basket.

Is the basket empty when done or ???

Thanks,

Jim R.

Basket only has a small amount of fine dirt in it - leaves are all trapped in the plastic water outlet "grate" on the top of the unit and they slowly work their way out back into the pool water.

Not a lot of leaves - 6 or 7 leaves across the bottom of a 14 X 40 pool. Anything picked up, just comes out the top - either right away or gradually as the grate no longer holds them in.

Picture of the basket with the lid open after two complete cycles in the pool. And picture of the leaves behind the "grate" on the top of the unit.

L,

Is that the only set of filters you have?

If not, try the corrugated ones.. They are great!!

Once in a while I get a leaf at the exit port for the suction impeller, but 99% of the stuff stays in the basket.

Something is wrong. I suggest that you contact the seller and show them the pics.

Thanks,

Jim R.
