Why do nearly all pool info sources ignore talking about CYA?!

For my first few years of pool ownership, before finding and eventually embracing TFP, I watched a LOT of pool related YT videos and read a lot of articles.

So much offered out there about chlorine levels and shocking and how much to add based on gallons, but very, very few EVER mention CYA.

They will easily say things like... at 1lb of grandular shock for every 10,000 gallons, but never mention to consider CYA when doing this, which as I know know from TFP makes all the difference in the world.

And there's very little warning, ok virtually no warnings that I found for new pool owners about just hammering their pool with pucks all season and the issues that come with continually rising CYA levels.

When I first got an Intex pool a number of years ago, I remember my neighbor telling me "oh, you NEED stabilizer, don't forget to add it", and I was adding granular stabilizer in addition to floating pucks non stop. That little pool got out of hand really fast. lol

Why do you think no one seems to take it in to consideration? Do some think it's too complicated a matter to get into, so they just don't broach the subject. Just seems crazy to me after learning and having it all finally makes sense to me.

How do you sell all those pool store potions and keep the consumer in the dark if you actually explain the reality of pool water chemistry management? That is what TFP is for, teaching the consumer how to manage their pool water chemistry. Cheaply.

If you maintain a proper CYA/FC level, you don't have algae.

And you have zero need for 82% of the pool store shelf devoted to algae control.

If you skip all those, you likely didn't add any copper, so remove another 15% of their metals removing/sequestering products.

You sir are a TERRIBLE customer.
