Why A Constant Low Salt Message ?

Hi

I am having an issue with an ongoing low salt blinking message on my equipment . My digital readout on the equipment keeps flashing low salt and showing me a reading of 2700ppm , even after adding salt. I then used a digital salt tester that you put in water and get a reading of 3500ppm.. The reading has been way off from the water testing vs the equipment reading. It will not stop blinking with the low salt message however a few times throughout the day it will stop for an hour or so. Sometimes if goes off for a bit if filter speed change but then comes back on. Any thoughts as to what might be going on ? The system has always been about 100-200 ppm off from the water test but nothing like this.

As noted above, get the Taylor salt test kit. If your salt cell has sensors that you can clean, try that. I cleaned mine with isopropyl alcohol and the reading went from 2400 to 3200, which matched my Taylor test results.

  • Report all readings when you..
    • Go to the diagnostic screen, report the readings and then press the + button to reverse the polarity.
    • When the new numbers appear, report what they are.
    • Then, press + again and report the new readings.
  • What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
  • What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?
Tell us all 3 sets of diagnostic readings.

Will do that as soon as I get home . Thanks .
