Who uses a portable pump for spring clean ups? Tell me about your set up. I use a 3/4hp/1.0sf Hayward super pump. I feel like i need more power!

Maybe a different vacuum head? I know when the brushes get worn and flat on mine it will suck better. If I'm doing a fiberglass or gunite/concrete Pool the vac head for that is much lower to the surface and has wheels..so of course suction is greatly increased. But that heads not safe for vinyl liner pools..which is mostly what I do.

this idea of this idea of using a separate pump for vacuum intrigues me. I have my old spec E90 1.5 HP pump sitting in the shed right now after we just upgraded to a new Hayward VS. It was wired for 230v and I wonder if I can back it down to 115v for use on a different outlet as opposed to unplugging the Hayward each time. Probably seems like Overkill to vacuum this way on my on my own pool but at least it puts the old pump to good use
