Hello, new owner here around 3 weeks. I have white water mold and not sure how to get rid of it. I believe there wasn't enough free chlorine in the pool from jump. I went to my pool store since I fresh filled and been doing what they say. They had me use 48 oz of liquid chlorine instead of shock. Before adding the liquid chlorine I scrubbed the pool with my brush and backwashed the filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can give more info in needed

Welcome to tfp! Sorry we’re meeting this way but unfortunately it’s how it is usually.
To rid your pool of white water mold - which is actually a bacteria from lack of adequate sanitation- you will need to do the
SLAM Process with liquid chlorine.
This requires that you have a proper test kit to accomplish- a taylor k2006c @ various online retailers
or
tf100/tfpro @ tftestkits.net
are the only ones we recommend due to the necessary tests they contain.
Test Kits Compared
Relying on pool store “free” testing is not feasible for this as it requires frequent testing multiple times per day.
Until you get one in (which should only take few days) you can add 5ppm worth of liquid chlorine to the water each day to prevent things from getting worse.
PoolMath can help you calculate amounts.
When it comes, post your results & we can help you with the next steps. We have to have accurate data to properly address the situation.

In the meantime while you wait to go to war, fill out your signature with all your pool details. You can see mine below this post as an example (turn mobile devices sideways).
And read up on
Pool Care Basics to get a better understanding of what we practice here.
