White Powder around Hayward Pump

I have noticed a white powder surrounding my Hayward Pump a few weeks ago. My Salt level had been very high as I was dealing with another issue... and thought it was related.

This morning, I notice a higher pitch (than normal) sound from the pump. Not sure if this is something I can do something about... before something serious happens to the Pump.

Looks like seal has been leaking and white powder is salt left behind

Bearing replacement or motor replacement, also a new shaft seal. Easy fix relatively. A couple hundred dollars only. No need to replace the whole pump.

Thanks for the comments - what is involved with replacing the bearing? And shaft seal?

Do a search on you tube, it shows the procedure. Also if you do a search here there's lots of info. I'm a visual guy, you tube rocks.
