Hello, We had Oceanside glass tile installed in our pool. A mix of white, matte white and iridescent white glass tile. About 2 weeks after install, it rained and the iridescent tile started turning dark gray. It looks absolutely terrible! The glass company and builder are pointing fingers at each other. Recently we’ve had some warmer days and the discoloring is getting worse.
Does anyone know what could cause this to happen? Could it be the water has to completely cover at all times, direct sun, heat, thinset not cured properly, no waterproofing?
Also, we had Stonescapes mini pebble in Aqua white. From day 1 it has looked blotchy and dirty. The pool builder said they could do another acid wash but I’m not sure it will fix the problem. Upon close examination. I see patches of stone with no cream and patches with cream. The patches without cream look dirty. Does anyone know what could be the cause? Will acid washing remedy?
This has been the worst experience of any construction we’ve done. So much money spent and tremendous stress. Please, any help/ suggestions would help. Thank you!
