Whisperflow VST comm cable replaced but i have questions

Hello, i apologize in advance but I am not very knowledgeable about my pump system as Ive had a pool service take care of it since I've owned it.
Recently had my pump replaced and had to go back and forth with the installer regarding the comm cable. They didnt include it originally and pentair said I should have had them install it. I did have one with my older pump that would not fit this one. So I went back and forth a little with them and finally got them to install it.
However questions still remain for me and that installer is no longer around.
1. The cable looks to be routed underground into the white pipe shown in the first photo. If they actually did what they were supposed to, how did they install this underground without digging?
2. Is there a way I can test to make sure that its installed correctly? I'm actually concerned they may have just pushed the cord into the white pipe with the other cords and not connected it. I'm too scared to pull on it in case it was hooked up properly.

Thank you

The purpose of the pump comm wire is to allow the pump and speeds to be controlled by your automation. If they connected the wire properly then you can do that.

You can open your automation panel and check for the wire connection on that end.

What automation do you have? Please put it in your signature with more description of your pool equipment and model numbers.

So just looking at post here this morning, but, I have pulled many wires in my time. BTY, IAM NOT A TFP EXPERT. IMO ,they used the old comm cable as a drag removing the old and pulling the new comm cable in at the same time( no digging needed).
Are all your features now working?

Help us out by telling us what equipment you have.
It appears to me the comm cable off the pump is black, comes out of the side of the pump drive, and is coiled up behind the filter. We cannot see where it goes to.

It also does not appear you had the pump replaced. The motor and drive possibly, but the suction and returns on the pump look to have been there for quite some time.

Sorry I updated my signature with more info. I have an Easy touch panel with a big clunky remote lol That's about it. Ill try and find out model numbers, I do not know them off the top of my head.

Thank you, that makes sense. Hopefully that is the case and it's all done right. Maybe im being a little too paranoid. I dont have any features but the spa and it appears to be working fine at this time.

This could simply be my ignorance. The thing that was replaced is circled in red, was replaced a few months back now. The wires marked with yellow arrows are the comm cable and the wires marked orange are the same but I dont know its function. It comes from salt cell to the panel.

What you circled is the entire pump assembly, but the connections to the wet end look quite old. May just be my eyes.

The line on the right looks to be coming from the valve actuator. I do not see the comm line for the pump going that direction. Maybe better pictures will help.
If your spa is working, adjusting the pump speed, etc, then the comm is connected from the pump to the EasyTouch.

Do you have easy access to the person who did your install? You should invite them to meet you for lunch.

And when they arrive, promptly slap them for plumbing your pump without unions.

It may vary slightly depending how old the system is, but on your Easytouch remote, go to:
Settings > Pumps > Pump 1 and view its status.
If you get a data readout there then it's communicating.
