WHISPERFLO PUMP UPGRADE

I just purchased a 2.7 hp vgreen replacement motor for my whisperflo wfds-6 two speed 1.5 hp pump

the parts list for the wfds-6 shows a 073129 impeller,

for the 2 hp whisperflo the parts list shows a 073130 impeller

for the 3 hp whisperflo the parts list shows a 073131 impeller

The replacement impellers are about 35 $

for the 2.7 hp vgreen replacement motor, should I replace the impeller or stick with the 1.5 hp 073129 impeller in the pump?

The largest you could possibly use is the 073130 impeller (2.60 THP). You have to remember that label HP <> THP.

The only advantage is that you would be able to run at lower RPM for the same flow rate which results in lower noise.

The total hp is the rated hp x the service factor.
