Which MFD/UF rating for capacitor for Whisperflo 1.5hp?

tanks,

What we really need are the P/Ns of the motors. The Wisperflo pump takes several different motors.

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.

Sorry...my bad. It's 1.5hp "combined"...3/4hp each.

Here's some screen shot of the labels....

Typically, you replace the capacitor with the same specs as what it came with.

Normally I would but I have two identical pumps with different specs on the capacitor...that seemed strange to me.

You just use the same capacitor that the pump comes with.

Has either capacitor been replaced?

The motor manufacturer selects the capacitor at the time of manufacturing based on the motor characteristics. Seems like they would be the same, though.

Probably need to contact Regal Beloit for a more exact answer.

If one was replaced, someone might have used the wrong one.

You could check the power factor with each capacitor to see which capacitor gives you the best result.

Watts /(volts x amps) is the Power factor.

The power factor will be less than one with no capacitor.

The correct capacitor should make the power factor about equal to 1.0.

Thank you very much, everyone, for this thread;

I have been hunting around for ages to verify the cap for my whisperflo pump.... Not sure why this info should be so hard to come by (my user guide has a parts list which conveniently excludes the cap or its specification)... I was able to confirm that my 50MF cap was right for the motor I have.
