I just bought 8 gallons of chlorine from Lowes and I can't find the date code.

I'm sure someone with comment on the specifics for that brand, but I do not see it in your pictures. It is usually printed on the box/bottle during the bottling process so the font is not as professional looking as the box/label itself (just like expiration dates or best by dates you will see on milk and other food items).

If it's not printed on the box then you have to open it to check the bottles. Yes the whole box is printed but it should look like said box then went through your PC printer. This one would be the 021st day of 2021.

On the jug it looks the same way. I like JJ's mill jug comparison. Lol. Day 023 of 2025

OK, I opened one of the boxes and checked the jugs inside. Still no date code. I checked the bottom of the jug but did not take a photo. I can imagine some packaging problem where the date code did not get printed on the outside of the box. Since the date code is also not printed on the jugs inside, this seems more like a deliberate decision to not mark the date code.

Thanks for not taking a pic of the bottom.
The cap probably would have held, but if the universe had nothing better to do today than mess with you....... :ROFLMAO:

I'm pretty sure they do it for themselves to identify the batch it was part of, and we simply benefit from it. If you has a problem, let's just say it was acid by accident, they'd want to know exactly where/when it came from. I'd find a different brand until the #s reappear.

I'd use it and if it's even close to full strength it wouldn't have been worth my time to return it.

The KemTek liquid chlorine 2-pack I found at Albertsons is 7-8 months old. So these should be significantly less effective by now even if stored at room temperature? Lowes have them too, so I will look if they have a more recent batch.
