Turn the SWG off and add it anywhere it’s easy to sweep around so it dissolves quickly. Wait an hour and test the salt level to make sure it’s right and adjust if needed, wait 24hours for it to fully dissolve and then turn the SWG back on
Is this a newly plastered pool?
If so, wait at least 28 days after plaster to add salt.
Before adding salt, test the pool water for salt content (using a Taylor K1766 salt test kit or equivalent).
All pools have some salt in the water and you want to know how much before you add additional salt so you don't overshoot the recommended ppm of salt for your SWG.
With SWG off, add the salt to the shallow end as it makes brushing it until totally dissolved.
Brush until all salt is dissolved.
Run pump for at least 24 hours straight after all salt is dissolved before energizing SWG.
