When to replace the Mastic?

Hello,

I am wondering when it becomes time to replace the mastic / Deck-o-Seal that serves as the expansion joint between my decking and coping. Here are a few photos... is it time to replace it?? Pools is 8 years old... all thoughts appreciated.

The circled area is where I would be concerned. You don't want your expansion joint closing up or getting filled with dirt.
