I guess I just haven't been paying attention but when did bleach go back down to 6%? That means the price has gone up even more than I thought it had. When I first got the pool it was sold in gallon containers of 6%, then it went to 3.75 quarts of 8.25% at about the same price. Now the container has stayed the same but it has dropped back down to 6%.
When did regular Clorox go back down to 6%?

There have been a few posts this year about Clorox and Walmart's Great Value dropping in strength. If you have an HEB nearby, their regular Bravo is still 8.25% @ $2.94 per gallon. Just got myself four of them.

Liquid chlorine production is an energy intensive and inherently complicated process. It doesn’t surprise me in the least, especially given the recent trend of corporate “Green Initiatives”, to find ways to reduce costs. Lowering % hypochlorite does not affect the primary purpose of bleach products - cleaning & disinfection. So I can easily see lots of justifications to reduce strength.
