What's your current pool temp?

If I still had my cover it would have been better, although I'm actually pretty surprised that I only lost 11 degrees, considering the pool was without solar from saturday evening at 6 until Monday morning at maybe 8:45. I was also surprised to see the solar boost me 8 degrees on a partially cloudy day. Sunday never got above 75 down here and the sun didn't come out for even 5 minutes...

If I get a heater it will be in the fall, I really want to refinish the pool and redo the deck with pavers this summer. I don't have unlimited funds so I may have to wait another year on the heat pump and buy another cover for this winter...

Plus on a solar cover. I am still using a cover, that is why I am able to get such great heating results. Probably will take if off permanently on Memorial weekend:cheers:

90 and solar cover on heat set to 85 ( heat bill went down 100 $ this month from high of 325$ we even had a april snow) heated pool up march 7th from 50 to 85 guessing that was about 125$ the only things i have on NG is a tankless hot water and free standing fire place in our pool house/ bath house and pool heater so cost is split some. Swam last nite :p first time it was not cold going from pool to bath house.

We're just getting the pool open today and the water temp is 58 degrees. When it hits 68, I'll be in it! (I'll get in at 66 in the fall but that's a tad too cold in the spring when I'm not used to it.) 72-76 is pretty perfect for me and when it hits 80, I complain, lol! I bought a solar heating system last fall hoping to extend my season into early November (I live in Maine) but it didn't raise the temp enough. I'm really hoping it will do a better job this spring so I can get in soon!

Farmgirl, I'm so sorry for your loss! I lost one of my Golden Retrievers a couple of weeks ago; she was ten. It's so hard to lose such a precious family member!

I'm glad to see there are others who will swim at the lower temps - I'll be in as soon as mine hits 66, too!

about 66-68 degrees. went swimming 2 days ago at 66, and it was quite refreshing and enjoyable. swam last night at 68, but it felt colder due to windy conditions. DH and i had to euthanize our 15 year old dog last night, so did not feel good enough t swim today. i just sat in the hot tub and felt sad.

Had a great first swim yesterday with 84 degree water.
But my snorkel full face mask broke almost immediately.
I thought it was just a small crack on the frame but I jumped in the deep end with it and the frame split in half lol.

I'm at 85 today without support from any heaters, solar, or covers. That's after daytime highs of 90 (sunny) and lows in the upper 60s for the past 2 days. This is my first season with this pool and I can tell already that it's probably going to get waay too warm for my preference.

Still 71. Hope to take a swim on Saturday but need some more degrees unless I’ve done yard work or spent some time on the rower.

Ahh yes I love this time of the year. The air high temps are in the high 80s and low 90s and the pool water is just warm enough to swim at 71. The night lows are in the mid to high 50s and the spa is still in play.

These are the best of times.
