Looks like you are having some movement in the pool/shell structure. Perhaps some water behind the liner? Some questions:
- Do you have a sump pump/drainage around your pool?
- Do you have a main drain with a hydrostatic valve?
- Lots of rain/flooding lately?
- Any noticable water loss in the pool?
*we have some drains the come out in an area probably 10 feet from the pool
*I don’t know what a hydrostatic valve is, so not sure
*it has rained off/on the last 12 hours, but not enough for flooding
*we were noticing some water loss in the pool last summer
We have a couple of small holes in the liner that I was planning on patching once the water temp is warmer. Could that be the issue?
It's worth investigating as continued water accumulation under and behind the liner can really throw things off, not to mention it can start to disrupt your supporting base material. Re-setting the liner back to its original (or reasonable) position would be the next challenge.
A hydrostatic valve is something installed in the main drain to help protect the pool from upheaving if/when the water table rises under the pool. It's quite common in plaster pools and some fiberglass shells, but some vinyl builders install one as well. The only way to know for sure is to contact your installer or remove the drain cover and take a look.
