When you change your sand in your filter, how do you dispose of the old sand? My trashman would not appreciate 150lbs of sand in the can.

I put it in my horseshoe pits!

You could make a lot of candle holders, ashtrays? keep a bucket by the fireplace/woodstove in case of emergency, build a beach! The possibilities are endless.

I was thinking of using it in the lawn. I could hide it in a planting bed.

Offer it for free on craigslist. Unless you just converted from Baqua it should be fine for a sand box or the low spots in someone's yard.

Exactly what I did when I replaced mine. Killed the weeds rather well. Let it sit on top over the fall and into the winter then turned it into the topsoil.
