What to do if I have done SLAM incorrectly?

Do not worry about the bubbles on the side of the pool. Nothing to do with algae or anything you are doing.

This sandy stuff. What happens when you smear it on a paper towel?
It’s still a bit cold for my son to go in...but here is the pic when I smear the stuff from hairnet..it kinda roll up into this...so doesn’t feel like sand?

If it does not smear into a green/yellow color, then it is not algae and is just dirt, etc.

I would suggest you just move on and let the FC come down to target range, add your salt, and fire up the SWCG.

If it persists, then it would be time to check the laterals in your sand filter for a crack.

As I do not have a sand filter that is out of my wheelhouse. I believe it is pretty obvious when you get the sand out of the filter.

Run for awhile and see if it goes away.
