Had pool people open our pool Monday 5/14 to a green mess. CYA had gone to zero over the winter, so I let them dump a bunch of trichlor into the pool.
They came back Wednesday and, without asking me, added Flocculant because "omg the water hadn't completely cleared yet in TWO WHOLE DAYS." They assured me this would help me open the pool sooner for swimming. Okay...
As advertised, the flocc settled all the debris to the bottom and turned the water clear after 24 hours. Then, they didn't come Thursday to vacuum up the flocc. Now, the flocc has floated back to the surface. I'm a bit puzzled how you can vacuum flocced material floating on the water surface.
I am obviously not pleased. I will be irate if I need to drain my pool because of what these idiot pool people did without asking me. Also, I can't even drain properly because my pool has no main drain and has a vinyl liner.
Help me prevent draining. How do I get the flocc off the surface?
ALSO: this may matter, but I plan to replace the sand in my sand filter in the very near future, so it's likely not the end of the world if some flocc goes through my filter. (I have a multi-port where I can vacuum to waste)
Stats:
FC: 20ppm
CC: 1ppm
CYA: 50ppm
pH: 7.4
Salt: 2600ppm
