We keep our levels much higher based off cya. Does the cya counteract the chlorine effects on the vinyl?

I have a medium blue liner and my chlorine for two years was around 6-8. I figured it was easier to keep the swg setting the same as I travel a lot for work then risk the chlorine dropping too low. Liner still looks new. This year with less travel I have it at around 4. I think the sun does more than anything.
