What pressure should the filter be at?

Neither my husband or I paid any attention to what our pressure was at when the pool was new so we have no idea what to look for to know when we should clean it. Are there signs to watch for other than pressure? Our pool was finished in February. How often should we expect to clean it?

I would recommend doing a cleaning of the cartridges, then make note of the new clean pressure. From that clean starting point, you'll plan on cleaning the filter when the pressure increases by about 25%.

I have the CCP-520 and an IntelliFlo pump... I run mostly at 1200 RPM and my filter pressure is less than 2 lbs. at that speed. I am not a fan of the 25% guideline when it comes to large cartridge filters..

I clean my cartridges twice a year... Once before the swimming season starts and then after the swimming season is over... I could go all year between cleanings, but like doing it twice a year.

Just make sure you clean them when it is warm enough to get wet...

That is good to know. We have it at 1500 most of the day and it was about 4-6. When we turn it on high it's about 18-20.

Get your baseline at high RPMs after you clean them. It will be much easier to see any PSI rise at 19 than it will at 2.
