What position for diverter valve..

Samantha:

Try to keep everything in one post and please add your signature. The main drain is closed by an "air lock". Please read my other thread. The skimmers and returns are closed by plugging them after removing most of the water. I believe that at least 95%, if not more of the water in my pipes is removed when I close. Thanks!

So by closing the main drain off at the pump, an air lock is created and no more water can enter? Kind of like an upside down cup?

When moving water with air through the main drain piping, you will see the water start bubbling, like a whirlpool. After about 60 seconds, I shut off the valve. Depending on how much time is takes to move the water. Some people have reported that this can take up to 5 minutes with smaller types of compressors.

That pool is green, not a TFP pool. LOL!

This one shows a compressor, hose and fitting. Not the best video, but will give you an idea.
