What parts of pool equipment need lubrication for opening?

Gaskets primarily. The DE filter housing gasket, the pump basket lid gasket, the drain plugs on the pump gaskets, etc.

Curious about this. The gasket on my hayward vs pump was bone dry when newly installed. I figured it couldnt hurt to use some jacks lube on it but the manual doesnt state it needs it ?‍

I think there is a pump out there that says no lube. If it is not sucking air, leave it.
