I'm generally more trouble than I'm worth so you should save yourself the time and effort and just download any useful info from my brain and burn it on an 8-track cassette tape. You can then use the carcass in your galactic hyperdrive furnace for additional turbo boost....
As for borates, start HERE. Since you have a salt water pool with plaster surface, you'll want to use the boric acid method of addition, it's just easier and it doesn't cost that much more than the borax method. You can get bulk boric acid from HERE or HERE. Chem geek has put together THIS POST on the safety of using borates if you are interested in it.
