What limits pump size

Does that mean you don't see anything of concern? Would installing a larger pump be no problem? Right now I'm working with this pool company since I have a working relationship with them going back to 2006. They sell Hayward equipment. If I wanted to go with Pentair, the main choices are Leslies and an independent company that doesn't have the greatest reviews on Google.
A larger VSP is NO PROBLEM as you can dial the speed you want/need. One of the best filtration systems is still a large sand filter with a VSP running very slow. Have a heater? SWG? Dial in the speed you need and forget it. Got a spa? Higher RPM to run the jets.
A Hayward 2.7 will do all you need. If you want to do it yourself (its not that hard, its all on YouTube) and go with Hayward, go to Leslie's and get a Jacuzzi or Hayward 2.7, they sell both and are the same pump (and the same cost now). Since that Hayward is a high-head pump, your pressure readings will likely be higher at the RPM you have mentioned.

I'm not a big fan of medium-head pumps (except where they are better), like the SuperFlo, but if it is working, why are you wanting to replace it? If you called me out, I would try to not sell you a new pump unless there was a problem. Yeah, I'm not a great business man, but there is enough money in this business for me to make a living for one more month, then I'm done.

Maybe the same reason people get a new car before the old one is dead. Because they want the newer one. I don't like the current pump but I think I've come to a decision. If you seen my other thread of my broken Pentai iChlor 30, I got a quote from the pool supply company I use. They're a Hayward dealer and they are recommending a Hayward Aquarite S3 25k for $2300. I've already told them I want the 40k which is $300 more. I'm sure one reason for their recommendation is the S3 locks you into buying replacement cells from them and the smaller one would need replaced more often. A replacement iChlor 30 cell is under $800. My thoughts are right now are to get the replacement cell and push off any other changes to the SWG system until the current Pentair pump dies. I'm thinking sometime in 5 years when the pump is 10 years old and the cell is 5 years old. $800 right now sounds better than $2600 for the SWG and $2000 plus for the pump.

Good reasoning on the SWG, always go bigger if possible. As I used to tell customers, "Its your pool, your money, your choice, I just make recommendations." You can seldom go wrong with new equipment.
