What kind of light is this?

Welcome to TFP.

Pull the light out and see if there are some labels on the fixture.

Looks like a Pentair Aqualight.

Different types of bulbs may be used in one model light fixture.

You cannot be sure what is in it from looking at the outside.

Pull the light first and check for labels and other identificarion.
Plan on replacing the gasket as well. Take the gasket and bulb with you, as well as pics of the label.

If you just run off to the pool store to grab a bulb for what you guess you have, you'll waste more time running back to the store to exchange it

You need to see the label to find the actual model number.

Unscrew the top screw and pull the light up onto the deck.

The light might be 12 volts or 120 volts.

If it is 12 volts, you should have a transformer near the equipment.

If it is 120 volts, you will not have a light transformer.

If you have the Jandy LED light you will find getting the light working is not as simple as buying a bulb at the pool store.

The very expensive light engine PCB needs to be replaced which Pool Stores do not stock.

And you may find it more economical to replace the entire light then the light engine PCB.

Once you open up those lights for repair it can be difficult getting a waterproof seal again.

It looks like a white spa light and it might be LED or incandescent.

It might be 12 or 120 volts.

If the equipment is all Jandy, then the light is probably Jandy.

If you have a transformer, then the light is probably 12 volts.

Sometimes pool and spa lights will be different voltages and one will have a transformer and the other will not, but they are usually both 12 or both 120 volts.

Sometimes the lights are on separate circuits if the customer wanted to be able to control them separately or they might be on the same circuit so that both go on and off at the same time.

If the pool light is white, the spa light is probably also white.

The pool and spa lights are usually the same type as far as color, voltage and type of light incandescent or LED, but not always.

To tell if the pool light is LED or incandescent, you can measure the power.

An incandescent light will use more power than a LED light.

You can check the color and power draw to figure out which light you have for the pool light and then you know what the spa light probably is.

To be sure, you need to remove the light from the niche and read the label.
