What kind of Algae is this?

Sorry for the poor pictures, my phone was having a hard time autofocusing underwater.

So I'm on night 2 of my first SLAM - and while vacuuming up everything at the bottom, it sure seemed like it had a yellow color to it. Think more "sand" color.

My CYA was around 38, so I've been keeping my chlorine at 18ppm. However, I'm afraid it's mustard algae - and if so, I'll need to up my chlorine levels.

What happens when you touch it? Does it poof out of your hand or can you feel it?

Assume your cya is 40 with a slam target level of 16, no reason for 18. If it is indeed mustard algae you will continue with normal SLAM until you pass all the criteria then for 24 hours only you will raise FC to mustard algae levels as often as possible during that time frame. Brushing more often than you would during a normal slam.
