I am replacimg one of my pool lights and was wondering what the 2" pipe that is capped off by the j-box for the electrical that goes to this light. I have a second j-box for the other two pool lights and spa light that has the same set up.

It looks like a line for water considering the size and color. May it was for potential "future" work done on the pool? That way you wouldn't have to break the concrete? Considering it's placement (by the rock) maybe they were thinking of doing a water feature of sorts?
Can you take the cap off or is it glued? I'm wondering if it's tied into your existing pool plumbing.

It is glues on and is connected to the piping but not sure why it needs to be there next to the j-box for the light.
The cap is glued on and it is connected to the piping system for the pool. I also have one at the j-box for the other lights.
