What is this and how to get rid of it !!!

First time pool owner here I've got a few pictures of this reddish pink stuff that is stuck to the bottom of the pool I've brushed it with a wire brush to no avail and shock if it touches it seems to turn it white but then there is still a white spot on the pool I've done the vitamin c test and it doesn't take it off ... it's a 40000 gallon pool with a salt system I can post my chemical reading when I get home if needed

Interesting... Do you have your own test kit? I'm not sure what that could be. You might want to do an OCLT to find out if you have any organics (e.g. algae) in your pool. Here are some other links that might help you get started.

I think that might be pink algae which is actually a form of bacteria. Follow the slam procedure in the link above. What are your target CYA and FC levels?
