Our pool installer instructed us to use this product, Pool Perfect Total, and I'm wondering if I should finish out using what I have or just toss the stuff now that I've converted to TFP methods. I'm also not sure if it's contributing to, or helping with, some of the above the water line staining issues we've experienced.

I will say that my filter pressure basically never climbs, to the point where I end up doing a backflush only because I feel like it probably should be done after a month (or two!) of not doing it. I am not sure if use of this product has anything to do with that.

It is an enzyme with a phosphate remover that acts as a clarifier.

Since you have no need for any of that, I would save the money.

Continuously using clarifier will compromise your sand filtering ability.
